Hospitality Ministry

Sis. Erika Biffle

The word “hospitality” literally means love of strangers and is found several times in the New Testament (Romans 12:13; 1 Timothy 3:2; Titus 1:8; 1 Peter 4:9).

Mission

The mission of the hospitality ministry is to provide a welcoming environment of love, acceptance, comfort, support, care, and unity for visitors, members, guests, and friends in order to enhance their worship experience, encourage fellowship, and help build a community of believers..

Mission Ministry

Sis. Jennifer Long

Mission Statement:  We are a Mission Ministry trying to carry out the great commission of our Savior’s last message – to make disciples of all nations.  We start at our home mission base by being doers of His word by giving freely, by visiting the sick and meeting for the purpose of prayer and study of God’s word in order to equip ourselves to serve.  We must get our young people prepared to replace us so we must help to organize youth circles for the children.  We are united with other mission groups like; Christian President’s and worker’s councils and “The Church Women United”.   We engage in activities that also donate to our foreign mission and scholarship.  We desire to do more with our Church scholarships and reward our young people as they attend college. We support our Pastor and Church in spreading the good news of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Sunday School Ministry

 Sis. Dawn Jones - Superintendent

Mission Statement:  Sunday School accomplishes one of the greatest needs in the twentieth century Church education.  Therefore, the mission of the Sunday School is to carry out the Great Commission as is found in Matthew 28:19-20: “Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world.”  Jesus told us to reach, teach, and win the lost.  Our intent is to carry out all three of these commands but the ultimate step of the Great Commission is “…teaching them to observe…” the written words and work of God and understanding the sacrifices of our Lord and Savor Jesus Christ.

Music Ministry

Rev. Damion L. Miller II - Minister of Music

As a ministry, we are devoted to giving praise and worship to God, to lifting up the name of our Savior, Jesus Christ, and giving inspiration to others through song.  Although it is not required that a person has “an angelic voice”, it is required that a person has the desire to “make a joyful noise” for the Lord and make themselves available for service.

Jesus said, “Go out into the highways and hedges, and compel them to come in, that my house may be filled.”  What a great opportunity of service our bus ministry provides!  Every week our church buses roll throughout the city of Gary bringing people to church to hear the gospel.  We see people trust Christ as Savior every week through this outreach. If you or someone you know would like transportation to church, call our church office at 219.949.4270 M-F from 9am to 12noon or contact us by email (newfrirendshipmbc@sbcglobal.net).
